Kyushu Institute of Technology has a basic principle on developing human resources who has dignity and creativity, which aim to 1. to create the world level research fields [= research], 2. to promote research based on Academic-Industrial Collaboration [= contribution to society], 3. to grow global engineer based on these foundations. And this time, Kyutech established "MSSC" as an overseas base in Universiti Putra Malaysia at April 2013 in order to enhance and accelerate these three aims, which is the first Japanese national university to do so. Economy is developing remarkably in Malaysia while geographically located in the center of ASEAN countries. Kyutech and UPM carry out dual degree program for PhD course. Meanwhile, Kyutech and UPM also carry out research collaboration, education activities and internship program for students and staff through MSSC.

Overview

There are student's free space, teacher's room, staff room, TV conference room, meeting room, "MILAiS"-type classroom for group work in the space which is 1F half of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Industry and Community Relations)' s Office in Putra University Malaysia.Students and faculty members from our university will be able to use facilities in Putra University (research facilities, physical education facilities, student support related facilities, etc.). In addition, one administrative staff is resident, and performs guidance of students, promotion of research cooperation, and other necessary duties.

Malaysia is about 90% of the area of Japan.There is a multi ethnic country consisting of Malay, Chinese and Indian population with a population of 28.4 million, although the national religion is Islam, each ethnic group believes in their religion, respectively.The official language is Malay, but English is widely used in the capital and its suburbs.The time difference with Japan is 1 hour.

Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is recognized by the independent government assessments as one of Malaysia's leading research Universities.It was formerly known as Agricultural University of Malaysia. UPM's main campus is located in central Peninsular Malaysia, close to the capital city, Kuala Lumpur and next to Malaysia’s administrative capital city, Putrajaya. There are 16 faculties, about 3000 students and 1000 staff.

In 2002, we signed an exchange agreement, and in 2004 we set up our satellite office as a research base within UPM. Based on the research exchange activities on the Graduate School of Life Sience and Systems Engineering, MSSC is as the base for dispatching and accepting students between universities.
